Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds will form an uneasy partnership in Netflix's Red Notice.

Netflix's relentless and fearless pursuit of big hits has given audiences plenty of memorable titles on the popular streaming platform. However, as large as Netflix's endeavors have been, Red Notice represents what's arguably Netflix's biggest swing so far.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is set to star in the upcoming action film as the FBI's top profiler. He's been sent by the FBI to track down two of the world's most wanted criminals, who will be played by none other than Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot.

Red Notice feels like Fast & Furious without cars

As you might expect from the ensemble cast, expectations are high for the production quality for Red Notice. Judging from the trailer, the film won't disappoint. Although we do have something to say about Reynolds' character, Nolan Booth. For someone who is supposed to be the "world's greatest art thief", he isn't as elusive as his title suggests he should be.

FBI Agent John Hartley catches Booth early on and enlists his help in catching The Bishop, who is portrayed by Gal Gadot.

The film describes Gadot's character as "the world's most wanted art thief." You'd think that this would be the same as being the "world's greatest art thief", but apparently, it's not.

Now, if this plot sounds familiar, it's probably because it could fit right in with the Fast and Furious movies. Although there's an evident lack of cars (and family) in the film, Red Notice features Johnson as a top FBI agent, just like his Luke Hobbs character from the Fast and Furious franchise. Even Gadot's character in Red Notice feels a lot like her Fast and Furious character, Gisele Yashar.

Red Notice is Gadot's first starring film in a non-DCEU movie 2016's Triple 9.

With that said, we're reserving judgment for Red Notice until it's out and available to watch. Luckily, the wait isn't too long. Netflix confirmed that Red Notice is going to drop on November 12.

Until then, fans can look forward to watching Reynolds in Free Guy. After premiering exclusively in theaters last August, Free Guy is set to become available on all major digital platforms starting on September 28, 2021. Meanwhile, Red Notice is Johnson and Gadot's next film after starring in Disney's Jungle Cruise and Zack Snyder's Justice League, respectively.
