The Xbox Game Pass lineup for September will only get better

Xbox still hasn't announced its latest set Game Pass titles but subscribers already know that things can only get better from here.

This is probably Microsoft's subtle way of saying, "Your move, Sony."
This is probably Microsoft's subtle way of saying, "Your move, Sony."

Last month’s new Game Pass offerings, although lacking in big-budget and AAA titles, were more than serviceable. Hades might have left, but Xbox quickly replaced it with a second mythological-themed game in Immortals: Fenyx Rising. Most Game Pass subscribers haven’t gotten around to playing all the noteworthy additions to the library from last month. Now that August is already nearing its end, Xbox is expected to beef up the Game Pass. However, even without an official announcement, subscribers can start feeling great about what’s coming in the next few weeks.

Here’s a tentative list of the games coming to the Game Pass next month:

  • Grid Legends via EA Play / Xbox Game Pass Ultimate – September 1
  • Disney Dreamlight Valley – September 6
  • Train Sim World 3 – September 6
  • Outer Wilds (Xbox Series X) – September 15
  • Hardspace: Shipbreaker – September 20
  • Beacon Pines – September 22
  • Slime Rancher 2 – September 22
  • Grounded – September 27
  • Moonscars – September 27

Disney Dreamlight Valley, Train Sim World, Beacon Pines, and Moonscars, are all joining the Game Pass on the same day that they’re coming out. Of these four, the biggest has got to be Disney Dreamlight Valley. The life simulation game lets players interact with other Disney and Pixar characters. But, it’s not just all fun and games. Disney Dreamlight Valley has been described as a cross between a life-sim and an adventure game.

Both Disney Dreamlight Valley and Slime Rancher 2 will join the Game Pass as early access titles on September 6 and 22, respectively.

The Xbox Game Pass Lineup For September Will Only Get Better
Slime Rancher 2 is a sequel to one of the most underrated games of the past decade.

If nothing else, September should solidify the chasm between the Game Pass and the PS Plus. But, it’s not for the lack of trying. Last month, Sony added a bunch of Yakuza games, and we’re excited to see what Sony will do to try and match up this month. The Japanese tech giant is already at a significant disadvantage after confirming a hefty price hike for the PS5.
