Square Enix has tapped one of its biggest fans in AEW superstar Kenny Omega to help with the launch of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
Despite currently facing health challenges, Omega has kept himself busy with passions outside the squared circle. Diagnosed with diverticulitis, a condition that required him to spend time in the hospital, Omega is well on his way to the road to recovery.
Omega’s connection to Final Fantasy 7 is well-documented, using one of its themes in his wrestling entrances. His fondness for the game now becomes more evident in his decision to co-host the launch stream for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth alongside Naomi Kyle. This event is scheduled for February 28, with the game officially releasing on February 29 for the PlayStation 5. Omega’s role in this launch reflects his love for gaming.

Omega’s involvement in FF7 Rebirth‘s launch is a dream come true for his inner fan. His move, “One-Winged Angel”, is inspired by the series’ central protagonist, Sephiroth.
Furthermore, hosting the launch stream for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a significant move for Omega, allowing him to remain active and visible while recuperating. This is a good example of how individuals can leverage their platform to explore new opportunities, even when faced with challenges.
Speaking of challenges, Square Enix finds itself in a rough spot as spoilers have already started popping up on the internet with only days to go before FF7 Rebirth comes out. The critically acclaimed sequel is also making rounds after the developers made a pair of last-minute changes to the first game, including its ending. Finally, amidst all of this, the creatives behind the game worry that fans might have already gotten the ending correctly purely by guesswork.
