Payday 3 enters final Open Beta ahead of September 21 release

Payday 3's open beta offers an early glimpse into Starbreeze Studios' upcoming heist game as they stress-test the game and perfect gameplay.

Starbreeze Studios wants to make sure that the Payday 3 servers are all good ahead of its official launch.

The highly anticipated third installment in the Payday series, Payday 3, is gearing up for its official launch on September 21.

While many are chomping at the bit to dive into Starbreeze Studios’ latest heist creation, they might not have to wait a lot longer.

Ahead of its release, the developers have unveiled an open beta test, following their initial closed beta in August. Guess what? The heist doors are now open for players to experience a sneak peek.

It has taken Payday 3 quite the journey to get here.

However, time is of the essence. Having kicked off on Friday, September 8, at 10 AM ET, the latest beta will shutter its windows on Monday, September 11, at 4 AM. ET. If you’re eyeing to immerse yourself in the adrenaline-fueled world of heists, strategies, and camaraderie, here’s your golden ticket.

Steam has been the platform of choice for PC gamers eager to delve into this beta. To enlist, simply navigate to Payday 3’s page on Steam. As you scroll down, a conspicuous “Join the PAYDAY 3 Playtest” banner awaits. The next step is a mere click on “Request Access”, and voila, you’re ready to mark your presence when the virtual heist doors swing open.

Once granted access, the game will conveniently appear in your library, allowing you to download and play.

For the Xbox aficionados, the route to the beta is via the Xbox Insider Hub. Within the hub, venture into the “Previews” section. Your target? The Payday 3 listing. Once located, it gives you the option to join the beta and its thrilling escapades.

This beta isn’t just about offering fans a taste of what’s to come. It’s a strategic move by Starbreeze Studios. They’re on a mission – a mission to break their game. During the beta phase, Starbreeze has planned “server slams”, events that are designed to attract as many players as possible, challenging the very limits of their servers. These massive test sessions are aimed at uncovering potential glitches and weaknesses. The scheduled hours for these server onslaughts are 7 PM ET on September 8 and 12 PM ET on September 10.

Payday 3 launches just right before the big boys arrive in October.

If you’re wondering about the content scope of the beta, temper your expectations. While Payday 3 promises a gamut of heists, weapons, cosmetics, and thrilling narratives, the beta offers a more concise experience. Players can expect a single heist, with a squad of four heisters at their disposal. Most of the game’s weapons and cosmetics are up for grabs, but not all. It’s a teaser, a glimpse, a tantalizing taste of the heist world, setting the stage for the grand release.

It’s worth noting that this isn’t Starbreeze’s first beta rodeo for Payday 3. The initial closed beta in August had a similar goal of server testing, but this time, the objective has more audacity. They want to stress-test, challenge, and, if necessary, break their game to fine-tune the final product.

While gamers revel in the early access, their active participation helps Starbreeze Studios craft a seamless, glitch-free experience for the official launch.

So, if the world of strategic heists entices you, now’s your moment to don the mask and dive in.

Speaking of Payday 3, Starbreeze Studios has just released its one-year roadmap for the game. Finally, it’s believed that Payday 3 will crossover into Fortnite soon
