The dates and romantic scenes from Final Fantasy 7 Remake are back and they’re much better than ever in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. The sequel, in particular, expands on all the options available from the original and in the first remake.
Of course, if we’re being honest, most of those wanting to know more about the dating and romance feature in FF7 Rebirth only really want information about two people: Tifa Lockheart and Aerith Gainsborough.
As Cloud Strife’s love interests, FF7 Rebirth takes no time confusing players which of the two to build a more intimate relationship with. But if you want to unlock one of the best scenes in the trilogy so far, which happens to be a moment between Cloud and Tifa, you’ve come to the right place.
The foundation of your relationship with Tifa in FF7 Rebirth lies in the dialogue choices you make during conversations scattered across chapters, offering opportunities to demonstrate your attentiveness to Tifa’s feelings.
Here are some key dialogue options to select at certain points in the game’s story as they become available:

The attire you select for Cloud should ideally match Tifa’s swimsuit style. If you choose the Wild Surf swimsuit for Cloud, you should pick the Shining Spirit swimsuit for Tifa. Matching outfits are the game’s way of having Cloud demonstrate a certain level of attentiveness to her that’s unique from other party members.
You’ll know if Tifa’s bond with Cloud in your FF7 Rebirth is high when she portrays Rosa in the Loveless action in Chapter 8.
It’s important that Tifa has a strong affinity before Chapter 12. Otherwise, she won’t be your date on the Skywheel. If not, you might not unlock one of the most talked about scenes between Tifa and Cloud.
A visual indicator of your progress with Tifa lies in her affinity level. Ideally, you’ll want her relationship bar blue and to have more rings than any other character. If another character’s bar displays the same color and number of rings, the character with whom you’ve invested more emotional connection will become your date. It’s important to prioritize Tifa.
