“The Five Blades Returned to Wangshan” is a secret unmarked quest introduced in the new sub-region, Chenyu Vale in Genshin Impact 4.4. This secret quest rewards you with some primogems and a secret achievement called “The Five Blades Returned to Wangshan.” This is not a lengthy or time-consuming quest, but more of a side collectible quest where you must go to five ancient swords and read the inscription on them.
You will get different chest rarities, each increasing as you go from inscription I to inscription V, and a secret achievement. This quest is commonly referred to as “The Lost Swords of Guhua.”
Prerequisites
You must complete the following two quests before you can do The Five Blades Returned to Wangshan:
“An Ancient Sacrifice of Sacred Brocade” is the final sub-quest of the main world quest called “Chenyu’s Blessings of Sunken Jade.” You must complete this quest to unlock the Chiwang Terrace, as two of the lost swords are found in the Chiwang Terrace area.
Completing The Shrouded Vale, Hidden Hero world quest unlocks a secret chamber at the Wangshan Hall. The first ancient sword is inside this chamber. Once you’ve completed the prerequisite quests, you may continue with this guide.
Ancient Swordsman’s Inscription (I)
You can teleport to the secret chamber (if you’ve completed the required quest) and go to the end of the tunnel, where you will find your first sword.
Interact with the sword to read the inscription, and you will be rewarded with a pile of rocks containing 10,000 mora.
Ancient Swordsman’s Inscription (II)
The second sword is on a steep singular cliff east of the Mt. Xuanlian teleport waypoint. Teleport to the waypoint and glide to the cliff in the east direction. You might need to climb up a bit, depending on how low you get.
If you have the Red Feather Fan gadget from Inazuma, it can make it easier for you to glide over. But don’t worry, as it is not that far away. You can easily glide over. Reading the inscription of this sword will reward you with a common chest.
Ancient Swordsman’s Inscription (III)
This sword is atop a cliff east of the Yaodie Valley teleport waypoint. You don’t need to climb up there as carp teleporters allow you to attach yourself to them and “fly” in any direction. You can see it above you as soon as you teleport to the Yaodie Valley. Use it and get closer to the cliff. From there, you will notice a time trial challenge with a carp teleporter on it.
If you attach yourself to this time trial teleporter, it will start the challenge but allow you to get on the cliff. Once you’re on the cliff, abandon the challenge and read the inscription on the sword. You will be rewarded an exquisite chest for reading the inscription on the third sword.
Ancient Swordsman’s Inscription (IV)
The fourth sword is located on a cliff north of Chiwang Terrace. You can get to the cliff easily by first teleporting to Chiwang Terrace and then, from there, climbing up the stairs and going left.
You will eventually see the carp teleporter, which you can take to “fly” to the cliff. Please refer to the video for the route.
Ancient Swordsman’s Inscription (V)
The final sword is on a cliff north of Chizhang Wall. This one is interesting as it does not look like a sword. It resembles a log and is called an “Ancient Timber.” You can take the Chenyu Vale Southern Mountain Statue of the Seven and go north towards the hill, as shown in the video below.
You will be rewarded with a precious chest and a secret achievement called “Five Blades Return to Wangshan.”
