Following Sony’s announcement of Ghost of Tsushima’s PC port, set for release on May 16, demands for a PC version of Bloodborne have surged among fans.
Bloodborne, a critically renowned PlayStation 4 title, remains conspicuously absent from the list of exclusive games that have been updated or upgraded for the PlayStation 5 or ported to PC.
Despite years of speculation regarding a potential remake, Sony and FromSoftware have not confirmed any plans to update the beloved title. FromSoftware President Hidetaka Miyazaki has indicated that while the possibility of a Bloodborne remake exists, the decision ultimately rests with Sony.

The fact that 2 weeks ago the legend Hidetaka Miyazaki himself confessed deep love and admiration for Bloodborne, and today we get rumors from reliable sources saying SONY PlayStation is doing “more than just a remaster” is making my heart whole again. pic.twitter.com/b6TKkyW1kU

As we learned earlier this year, FromSoftware’s hesitance to commit to remaking one of its best games appears to stem from the lack of technological advancements between the PS4 and PS5. Miyazaki has expressed that new gaming hardware could provide the necessary improvements to justify a remake. However, he emphasized that hardware limitations aren’t the sole factor in such decisions, pointing out the importance of accessibility and the potential for more players to enjoy these games on modern platforms.
Fans have responded to the absence of a Bloodborne update or PC port with hope and frustration. Is it possible Sony is reserving the Bloodborne remake for a future console, like the PlayStation 6? It wouldn’t be the worst idea to make Bloodborne a launch title for the next PlayStation. This theory is further supported by the increasing value of FromSoftware, which Sony has an ownership stake on by way of Kadokawa, and the ever-present demand for a Bloodborne update or remake.
Of course, Bloodborne doesn’t require a complete overhaul to make it suitable for re-release. Nixxes Software, for example, could adapt its assets for higher resolutions with minimal modifications. Enhancements such as reduced loading times, the ability to rest at lamps, and an in-game journal for lore tracking are among the many quality-of-life improvements suggested by the community and they won’t necessarily require much effort to implement.
If implemented, these could help transform Bloodborne into an even more compelling experience for contemporary audiences.
While Sony and FromSoftware remain non-committal, the passionate calls from fans for a return to the dark, intricate world of Bloodborne continue to grow.
Whether these demands will lead to the development of a remake or remaster remains to be seen, but if it’s true that Sony’s immediate release pipeline is full of remakes and/or remasters, we know a certain hunter who deserves similar treatment.
