Capcom is exploring pricing options for Dragon's Dogma 2 DLC, ranging from $9.99 to over $50, and gathering player content preferences.

Less than a week since Dragon’s Dogma 2 launched to a confusing storm of critical acclaim, controversy and well-earned criticism from fans, Capcom has sidled up to players, survey in hand, hoping to learn what makes their hearts race (or their purse strings loose) when it comes to the prospect of additional content – the source of all the vitriol surrounding the RPG.

The survey raises several user experience queries, including whether players would consider making a purchase for Dragon’s Dogma 2 DLC – not that the game isn’t already full of them. Capcom has also dangled price points ranging from $9.99 to more than $50 (though we’re curious to know who these people are that are willing to pay full game price for DLC).

What’s more, there’s also a section with a blank text box for users to give feedback on what they’d like to see in Dragon’s Dogma 2 DLC. As an expression of appreciation for taking the survey, Capcom is rewarding participants with a, uh… Dragon’s Dogma 2 wallpaper. Gee, thanks!

Dragon’s Dogma 2 also appears to have made a big splash, setting a new record for single-player Capcom games on Steam, as far as concurrent players are concerned. However, this huge influx of active players has blown up in Capcom’s face after gamers discovered undisclosed microtransactions incorporated in the long-awaited sequel.

Dragon's Dogma 2 was the second-best-selling game during its first week in Japan.

This might explain why the developer is keen to obtain player feedback for future DLC. Capcom has also revealed a scroll of upcoming updates for Dragon’s Dogma 2, addressing the bewildering absence of a New Game+ option, an oversight that modders tackled with enthusiasm.

In addition, Capcom plans to increase the availability of the Art of Metamorphosis items to 99 at Pawn Guilds. The item, which can be purchased at Pawn Guild Vendors for 500 Rift Crystals (premium currency bought with real money), allows players to change and tweak the physical appearance of their characters.

PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of Dragon’s Dogma 2 are also set to receive a slew of graphics and performance options, including toggles for motion blur and ray tracing and a choice between variable frame rates or a steady 30 fps.

These updates will certainly ease the exasperation of players who’ve voiced their dismay over the game’s performance issues, which Capcom attributed to the heavy CPU demand of rendering a bustling world full of NPCs.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is available to play on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam.
