The update, which included the introduction of the newest tank character, Mauga, and other major balance changes, has led to widespread reports of reduced frame rates and overall sluggish performance on the PS5 platform.

The reports from Blizzard’s forums and Reddit indicatedthat even basic actions like character rotation now take several seconds, a serious detriment where quick reflexes and smooth gameplay are essential.
Interestingly enough, the problem seems specific to PlayStation 5, as players on the other platforms such as PlayStation 4, have not reported similar issues. This has led some players to resort to playing Overwatch 2 on PS4 consoles to avoid the frame rate problems.
