The latest word on the grapevine is that Konami will end the month with more news about Silent Hill and we’ve got plenty of evidence to show that this might be happening.
Silent Hill fans have been desperate to find out more about Konami’s upcoming slate of games that are part of the massive revival of the survival horror franchise. Leading the way is the remake of Silent Hill 2, which is exclusive to the PlayStation 5. After years of denying, Bloober Team finally came forward to confirm that it’s working on a Silent Hill 2 Remake last year and Konami believes that this new partnership could go on for much longer. But, in the meantime, we’ve zero clues about what else to expect from the remake of the iconic title.
The good news is that we might be getting more details about the Silent Hill 2 Remake, Silent Hill: Townfall, Silent Hill F, and Silent Hill Ascension soon.
Our source? The well-known insider, Dusk Golem.
According to the well-known leaker, new trailers and details about the aforementioned games should hit our screens very soon, presumably before the Summer Games Fest kicks off on June 8.
In a later tweet, Dusk Golem asked followers which of the Silent Hill projects they think will debut first, one of the Silent Hill projects or the Separate Ways DLC for the Resident Evil 4 Remake. The majority (83.1%) believed the Silent Hill 2 Remake is coming out soon while plenty (61.7%) believe that the Separate Ways DLC for the Resident Evil 4 Remake will be announced on or before the Summer Game Fest.
Dusk Golem has a proven track record of knowing things that the rest of us don’t, so while this is purely speculatively at the moment, you might as well expect to hear more about Konami’s ongoing Silent Hill-related machinations.
Besides, it’s not like Dusk Golem is the only one that alluded to the event. The host of last year’s Silent Hill Transmission was spotted heavily hinting at a Silent Hill showcase at the end of the month before scrubbing the tweet off the face of the internet.
In any case, while we’d love to hear more about the Silent Hill 2 Remake as soon as possible, we don’t blame Bloober Team if it’s taking its sweet time with it. Konami and Bloober Team are well aware of the dangers of rushing games out to market, especially in light of the recent developments. Both would probably rather risk “delaying” the official reveal date announcement of the Silent Hill 2 Remake than risk angering fans further by releasing an incomplete game.
TLDR; watch out for Pyramid Head and the bandaged nurses to read their horrifying heads in a still-unspecified event in a few weeks or so.
