Ryan Reynolds Celebrates Deadpool 3 Wrap With Crotch Shot

After a pause due to the Hollywood strikes, Deadpool 3's filming sprang back to action in November last year.

The end is here! Well, not the end of the world, just the end of filming for Deadpool 3. Actors Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman delivered the exciting news in a bizarre blend of relief and outrageousness, which is really just another day on set of the whimsical R-rated Marvel Studios film.

Reynolds, ever the king of staying on-brand, celebrated the completion of filming in the most Deadpool way possible: by sharing a photo on X that’s all crotch, no context. Covered by the suit, of course, but still, unmistakably a shot of the Merc with a Mouth’s… assets.

Meanwhile, Hugh Jackman, the man, the myth, the Wolverine, took a slightly more conventional route to mark the occasion – that is, if you can call shaving off one of the most iconic beards in superhero history ‘conventional.

Like his co-star, Jackman followed up with a sentimental message, stating, “What a ride!!! Loved every minute of making this movie. Well, not the training and diet but the other 93.2%. To the best cast and crew, thank you! You are all aces. To two of my best mates @VancityReynolds and @ShawnLevyDirect I literally couldn’t have done this without you. Literally! July 26th can’t come soon enough. Time to shave.”

Yes! Nothing makes us more eager for a film than its actors getting all teary-eyed on their last day on set. Deadpool 3 might be the most anticipated superhero film in a long time, and that’s saying something in this era of superhero fatigue. Mixing the old with the new, the upcoming film will bridge worlds in the MCU, bringing together characters we could have only hoped to see sharing the screen.

Besides Deadpool and Wolverine, there have been whispers of Jennifer Garner’s Elektra and possibly even a cameo from Sir Patrick Stewart’s Professor X. Even Taylor Swift was rumored to have taken some time off her wildly successful Eras Tour to make a brief appearance alongside Deadpool.

Marvel Studios – and just about every major Hollywood studio, to be fair – faced its share of challenges and absolute flops last year, and as a result, the studio will be hoping to make a comeback with Deadpool 3.

With how stale the Multiverse Saga has shaped up to be, Deadpool’s return is the very thing we need to add to the level of irreverence and unpredictability we’ve all been craving. I can even stomach the fact that Jackman is reprising his role as Wolverine, despite initially claiming Logan to be his last hurrah as the gruff berserker.

There have been rumblings of a sneak peek of the R-rated film during the Super Bowl on February 11, and with post-production kicking off at the break of dawn, everything appears to be all set for an explosive premiere on July 26.
