Ke Huy Quan has now set his sights on a galaxy far, far away after dazzling audiences with his recent performances as the charming but quirky Ouroboros in Loki Season 2 and as Waymond Wang in the critically acclaimed dramedy Everything, Everywhere All at Once.
Quan, who we all remember as the adorable Short Round from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, has shot up in popularity enough after years of dormancy to the point that he’s now rubbing shoulders with Kathleen Kennedy, the President of Lucasfilm.
According to Collider, during an awards season get-together, Quan, who’s apparently a big fan of Star Wars, shot his shot, asking, “Kathy, Kathy, please put me in the Star Wars universe!”
While we’re not privy to Kennedy’s response to this, the one thing we’re sure of is that Quan would fit like a glove in the Star Wars universe. The 52-year-old actor seems to have the Midas touch when it comes to franchises. From Richard Donner’s 1985 film The Goonies to his more recent superhero stint in the MCU, Quan is practically a walking, talking Disney portfolio.
Quan has expressed that he’s not just looking to add another feather to his cap. After spotting a family dressed as his iconic characters for Halloween, Quan revealed how this warmed his heart, prompting him to think to himself, “If my characters can resonate with people, why not try on some more hats?”
In his own words, “I want to play a lot of different characters,” and honestly, who wouldn’t want to see him wielding a lightsaber or battling an Imperial Star Destroyer in a TIE fighter? If Disney’s listening, it’s time to make room for Quan in the Star Wars universe. I mean, just imagine the possibilities! Could he be a rogue pilot, a Jedi, or maybe even a charming alien? (I’m rooting for the latter!)

Bottom line: Ke Huy Quan in Star Wars is not just a fun idea; it’s practically a no-brainer. Disney and Kathleen, if you’re reading this, let’s make it happen! After all, the Force is strong with this one.
