Is the WWE building up a feud between LA Knight and The Rock?

After Grayson Waller tried to make The Rock come down from Hollywood, it's LA Knight's turn to start calling out The Great One.

The ever-selfless The Miz is expected to help put LA Knight even more.

The rising WWE star, LA Knight, has taken the ring by storm. For Knight, the talk isn’t only about his current rivalry with The Miz but also the constant comparisons to the legendary Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Both pf them are charismatic megastars with a knack for the mic, but Knight aims to establish his own unique identity in the wrestling world while paying homage to the legends who paved the way.

Knight’s relationship with The Rock goes beyond mere similarities. The two crossed paths back in 2013 when Knight was on The Rock’s reality show, The Hero. Knight had a brief stint on the show but made enough of an impression to be remembered. The highlight-or perhaps the lowlight, according to Knight-was falling prey to The Rock’s famous catchphrase, It Doesn’t Matter.

Speaking to Joe Brophy of TalkSport, Knight mentioned, “If that happens then we gotta do something physical, right?” when asked about a potential face-off with The Rock in WWE. It’s apparent that the catchphrase and The Great One still lives in his head rentfree, and he has his sights set on payback. “I don’t mind dropping the Rock on his head! I owe him one from about 10 years ago when he hit me with, ‘It doesn’t matter,'” Knight exclaimed.

LA Knight has been one of the biggest stars in the WWE for the better part of the past year.

Currently, LA Knight’s focus is on his intense feud with The Miz. On a recent episode of Raw, The Miz went out dressed up like Knight to mock him, an act that ended up showcasing Miz’s incredible skill at rising and dropping down to the level of his competition. While Miz accused Knight of being a “cheap imitation” of Attitude Era stars like The Rock and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, the feud is more than just a tit-for-tat on the mic.

With a match set for WWE Payback, the rivalry serves as an important stepping stone for Knight to solidify his position in the WWE and prove he’s no mere imitation.

That being said, it’s not as if the WWE hasn’t recognized Knight’s potential. WWE has already taken notice of Knight’s rising popularity and it’s obvious they see him as a future top card contender. Right now, pitting him against an industry veteran like The Miz serves a dual purpose. It not only gauges Knight’s ability to hold his own but also showcases his versatility, giving him a chance to prove that he can go toe-to-toe with the best in the business, both on the mic and in the ring.

LA Knight acknowledges that he does have many similarities with The Rock but he’s determined to carve his own path.

Knight’s emerging status isn’t confined to the ring alone; he’s also making waves outside of it. His merchandise sales are sky-high and catchphrases like “YEAH” and “LEMME TALK TO YA” have become viral sensations. Even though Knight didn’t win The Hero, he’s found another way to achieve hero status, and that’s in WWE.

Though the SAG-AFTRA strike in Hollywood has led to John Cena’s extended return to WWE, the same hasn’t happened to The Rock – yet. While a segment or match with The Rock may be a dream scenario for LA Knight, the ongoing trends suggest that it may not be entirely out of reach. It’s intriguing to think about the chemistry such an interaction would have, especially given their personal history and the way fans have embraced both wrestlers.

As for what’s next, it’s clear that Knight is on a trajectory that will likely make him a household name in the WWE. Whether or not he gets his dream showdown with The Rock or settles his score with The Miz, Knight’s star is clearly on the rise. And while comparisons with legends like The Rock are flattering, Knight is focused on carving out his unique legacy – one that promises to make him a cornerstone of WWE’s future.

LA Knight gave a heartfelt tribute to Bray Wyatt following the third-generation WWE superstar’s sudden death.

With the stage set for his match against The Miz at WWE Payback, Knight seems more ready than ever to continue his journey to the pinnacle of WWE stardom.

In a world where potential is often easier to spot than realized success, LA Knight seems poised to buck the trend. The charisma, the skill, the ambition – it’s all there. Now all that remains is for the events to unfold, for feuds to culminate, and for Knight to take his rightful place among the pantheon of WWE greats. Only time will tell how high LA Knight will soar, but one thing’s for certain: whether he’s dropping The Miz or dropping The Rock, Knight is definitely someone to watch.
