Ever since Perry Mason made its television debut over six decades ago, the landscape of legal drama shows has seen a myriad of diverse, groundbreaking stories. However, amidst this sea of shows, one recent show has managed to shine the brightest, dominating the viewership records: Suits.
For three consecutive weeks, Suits, the American series aptly named after the legal dress code, has dominated Nielsen’s streaming rankings.
The show that first premiered on USA Network garnered an impressive 3.7 billion minutes of viewership from July 3 to July 9, marking a remarkable 17% increase from the previous week’s 3.1 billion minutes. This outstanding achievement sets a new record for Suits as the most-watched acquired programming within a week.
This remarkable feat now places Suits in an impressive 13th position on Nielsen’s weekly viewing total in history, putting it in the league of acclaimed shows like Wednesday, Stranger Things, Ozark, and Tiger King. Interestingly, viewership has predominantly centered on the show’s first season, which means there’s a good chance that Suits will make the headlines once again with a new record.
Continuing the streak of successful legal dramas, The Lincoln Lawyer secured the second spot on the charts as viewers streamed 1.4 billion minutes of the first five episodes from Season 2 on Netflix.
Similar to the popularity of Suits, it’s highly likely that The Lincoln Lawyer will maintain its position as viewers eagerly binge-watch the remaining five episodes of Season 2, which were recently released..

Taking the third spot on the list was Lauren Schmidt Hissrich’s Netflix original, The Witcher, which recently welcomed its highly anticipated Season 3. As concerns about the show’s fate persist, it still managed to tally an impressive 1.2 billion minutes of watch time, although it saw a slight dip from the previous week’s 1.3 billion minutes watched.
Prime Video’s Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan secured fourth place in the overall rankings and third place among the list of original shows. The political spy thriller logged 966 million minutes, marking a 24% increase compared to the previous week. Not far behind, the Australian animated preschool series Bluey claimed the fifth spot with 849 million minutes watched. Meanwhile, the long-running medical drama Grey’s Anatomy followed closely in sixth place, amassing 816 million minutes viewed.
In the last tally of rankings, Hulu’s The Bear secured the seventh spot, garnering 791 million minutes of viewership during its second week since the release of the second season. S.W.A.T. made a notable leap to claim the eighth position with 773 million minutes watched.

Right on its tail, Netflix’s American game show-style cooking competition series, Is it Cake, Too?, followed closely with 755 million minutes watched. Closing the list at the tenth spot is Tyler Spindel’s action comedy film, The Out-Laws, which garnered 711 million minutes watched, securing its place as the only film featured in the top ten.
