Captain America: New World Order is no longer the title of the upcoming Captain America film starring Anthony Mackie, confirming the earlier reports. The actor recently revealed what Captain America 4’s title will be.
Mackie posted a photo on Instagram revealing that the new title for the movie will be Captain America: Brave New World. In the photo, Mackie is seen talking to co-star Harrison Ford who is sitting on a chair with the movie’s new title and logo.
“When Harrison Ford tells you how kicking ass should look, you listen! LoL…” the actor wrote on Instagram. “Thanks for the on set wisdom and laughs my friend! Can’t wait to do it again… Marvel Studios’ Captain America: Brave New World in theaters May 3, 2024.

Marvel has not revealed a reason for the title change. The old title “New World Order” has been linked to antisemitism. Conspiracy theories say there is a secret totalitarian government insidiously controlling world events. It sounds like the plot of a comic book or movie but has gained traction in the US and with far-right politicians.
The shift to a less controversial title would be the best possible move for Marvel at this point. The new title does away with the antisemitic undertone and can be seen by comic book aficionados as a subtle nod to Aldous Huxley’s classic 1932 novel Brave New World.
The photo shared by Mackie also gives fans a first look at Harrison Ford on the set of Captain America 4. Ford has been cast as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross for two upcoming Marvel movies. Marvel’s chief Kevin Feige recently shared his excitement about having Ford in the MCU.
“There’s a dynamic between President Ross and Sam Wilson [Mackie],” Feige said. “They have a history together, but in this film, we’ll be seeing the dynamic between Captain America and the President of the United States in a way that is just incredible.”

Captain America: Brave New World will be Mackie’s film debut as Captain America after succeeding Steve Rogers in Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Rogers handed over his shield to Sam Wilson at the conclusion of Avengers: Endgame.
The upcoming film will also be the movie debut of Joaquin Torres as the new Falcon. Danny Ramirez will be reprising his role as Joaquin Torres in the upcoming film. Captain America 4 will also see the return of Liv Tyler as Betty Ross.
Captain America: Brave New World is coming to theaters on May 3, 2024.
