WWE’s Liv Morgan, the dazzling all-timer partner of Raquel Rodriguez, has taken a fall, quite literally. Apparently, the former SmackDown Women’s Champion suffered a shoulder injury during a tag team match against Bayley and Dakota Kai.
According to Ringside News, the WWE is sidelining Morgan through the summer, presumably after SummerSlam on August 5. This injury, which is serious enough to potentially require surgery, has forced Morgan and Rodriguez to give up their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.
This paved the way for Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler to win the vacant titles over multiple other teams in a fatal four-way tag team match on the May 29 episode of Monday Night RAW.

Going back to the said match, Morgan isn’t the only one to walk away unscathed. It’s believed that Kai also suffered a torn ACL in the same contest. This answers why Raquel Rodriguez and Shotzi teamed up recently.
Ironically, Rousey & Baszler, the current champions, were originally planned to snag the same title at WrestleMania 39. The WWE delayed this idea to the most recent episode of RAW due to a Rousey injury.
Speaking of what the WWE is planning, it’s speculated that Morgan could return as a heel once her injury heals. The theory is that Morgan would take offense to Rodriguez’s decision to immediately replace her with Shotzi. Given that the WWE was never planning to make Morgan and Rodriguez long-time partners, this theory holds a ton of weight. If nothing else, Morgan’s return as a heel could be the heel twist eager fans could enjoy while waiting for her recovery.
Morgan’s injury affects her career outside the WWE as well. She’s expected to share the spotlight with Charlotte Flair in a film based on a book by Jeff Leen, Queen of the Ring. The movie starts filming in June and with Morgan injured, she might not be able to participate as much as expected.

The same episode featured the surprise appearance of AJ Styles, which apparently was a last-minute decision. Cody Rhodes also took this opportunity to call out Brock Lesnar for being unable to make him tap out. The Bloodline storyline obviously didn’t continue this time around, but Rikishi is expected to be at Friday Night SmackDown later this week.
