Gunn’s uncanny ability to breathe new life into comic book characters bodes well for the DC Universe. If Gunn can do what he did to the relatively unknown Guardians of the Galaxy to Superman: Legacy, the DCU has a bright future ahead.
Gunn’s unique vision and storytelling ability have established his reputation as one of the most respected filmmakers in the industry. Fans are now eager to see how he will tackle the iconic character of Superman and bring fresh energy to the story.
Gunn’s Superman project has been in development for quite some time, presumably before he was signed to spearhead DC Studios and Henry Cavill was booted off the DCEU.
The Superman Legacy project is expected to start production soon ahead of its proposed release date on July 11, 2025. As more details emerge, fans can expect take on the iconic superhero, complete with Gunn’s brand of storytelling and character development.

Speaking of the Guardians of the Galaxy, the film is a huge hit among audiences after getting good-but-not-great reviews from critics. Also, Karen Gillan has publicly declared that she’d love to play Poison Ivy in the DCU. Finally, Dave Bautista laid all the rumors about whether or not he’ll play Bane to rest.
