Audiences are in for a treat with Succession Season 4 finale runtime

Succession is going out with a bang as its fourth and final season will be the show's longest episode ever.

Ever since its premiere in 2018, Succession has consistently been one of HBO's most popular shows.

Succession Season 4’s final episode, “With Eyes Open,” has a runtime of 90 minutes and will air on May 28th.

Talk about going out on top, the Roy family’s exit from HBO will be the series’ longest yet.

According to multiple sources, Succession Season 4’s final episode, With Eyes Open, will be written by Mark Mylod and will have a runtime of 90 minutes.

As far as runtime goes, this is massive.

Case in point, the longest Game of Thrones, The Long Night, was “only” 81 minutes long. Also, HBO’s most recent hits, The Last of Us and House of the Dragon, each enjoyed 80-minute and 71-minute episodes, which are their longest.

As of the time of writing, only four more episodes of Succession haven’t aired yet, namely:

  • “Tailgate Party” – May 7
  • “America Decides” – May 14
  • “Church and State” – May 21
  • Season Finale – May 28

Season 4 of Succession premiered on March 26 and a new episode has aired every Sunday since.

The HBO schedule doesn’t reveal the title of the final episode of Succession but we suspect we’ll learn more about it soon enough.

If the length and title are true, it’s only fitting for Succession to receive a proper send-off. Outside of Game of Thrones and The Last of Us, Succession has been one of HBO’s biggest hits in recent memory.

A new episode of Succession Season 4 will premiere every Sunday going forward.

With a fifth season of Succession no longer on the cards, the series’ showrunner and creator, Jesse Armstrong, will want to use this opportunity to make sure the show goes out on top.

Speaking of HBO, the next seasons of The Last of Us and House of the Dragon are currently in development. The latter is expected to drop sometime in August 2024. However, the former might come a year later, presumably in early 2025. Finally, HBO Max will undergo a rebrand later this month.
