It’s odd that we haven’t gotten our first look at the DCEU’s Blue Beetle yet. The film, which premieres in August, has flown under the radar since the movie’s first poster was revealed several months ago.
Fortunately for fans, George Lopez has broken the radio silence to give an update about the movie. The actor teased that the release of the film’s first trailer is imminent.
In a new Instagram post, Lopez posted a photo of himself alongside Blue Beetle co-stars Harvey Guillen, Xolo Maridueña, and Angel Manuel Soto. The actor reveals in the post that a “trailer [is] coming soon.”
“‘THE BEETLES’,” Lopez captioned the post. “SO EXCITED FOR THIS ONE!! TRAILER COMING SOON AND YOU’RE GONNA LOVE IT!! STAY TUNED”
Insider Big Screen Leaks corroborates that the release of Blue Beetle’s first trailer is imminent. According to the said insider, fans can expect the first teaser for the movie “within the next month.”

When can fans expect the new trailer?
Many expected the first trailer for Blue Beetle to drop when Shazam! Fury of the Gods came out, but this didn’t happen. It wouldn’t surprise us if it had something to do with the film’s lackluster reviews and even worse box office.
The most likely candidate now is The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which premieres on April 5. But, the insiders might have felt cheeky and meant the advanced screening of Ezra Miller’s The Flash at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on April 25-27.
If a trailer does arrive next month, we expect that DC will drop a second trailer at San Diego Comic-Con. Fans are looking forward to the studio to have a massive presence at the annual comic book convention which will be happening on July 19-23.
Blue Beetle is coming to theaters on August 18.
