The future of the DC Universe has been in flux for months and the Aquaman actor has been keeping fans on their toes with a slew of interview answers. This time around he shared details about the Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom production and what’s next for him after the Aquaman stint.
Jason Mamoa is starting off this year with a busy schedule. Most recently, Momoa attended the Sundance Film Festival to show support for the documentary film “Deep Rising”. But apart from narrating the project focused on the ramifications of deep-sea mining, Jason Momoa has been doing a lot of talking to media outlets as well. In an interview with The Wrap, the actor was asked if he enjoyed working with Michael Keaton’s Batman for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
I shot with a couple different Batmans, but you just don’t know what’s going on and we’ll see what the end product is,” said the actor before addressing the impact James Gunn will have on his future in the DC Universe. [I’m feeling] really f—king good. Aquaman’s not going anywhere so it’s alright,” he assured fans. “Everything’s gonna be good, we’re still here and then I might be dipping into some other things too.”
The second question pertained to the meeting the Aquaman star reportedly had with James Gunn and Peter Safran a few days prior. Apart from the future of his current character, it was rumored that one of the topics was expanding Mamoa’s DC venture with yet another character named Lobo.
At first sight, his response might confirm the rumor and the new role, but you can never know with Jason Momoa and he’ll probably be more than happy to spill the beans when the project is finally confirmed.
After an earlier delay, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is scheduled for a December 25 premiere this year. Momoa will star alongside a star-studded cast that may or may not include Ben Affleck as well as Nicole Kidman, Patrick Willson, and the controversial, Amber Heard, among others.
The Aquaman actor isn’t the only one doing a lot of talking, with DC Studios creative director James Gunn also opening up on Twitter about the cast joining Momoa in the rebooted DC universe.
