Fans of the Zombieland franchise don’t get a lot of content regularly but the launch of the PlayStation VR2 headset seems to be a good enough motive. The reimagined version of the arcade light-gun shooter produced by XR Games is joining an ever-growing list of PlayStation VR2 launch titles.

The PlayStation VR2 is a revamped and improved version of Sony’s original virtual reality headset, which was released all the way back in 2016. Now, less than a month before the second generation goes on sale with features suited for the PS5, Sony is looking to expand its catalog of games better suited for the new hardware. Some of the improvements the PS VR2 brings are eye-tracking technology, improved graphics, and a more immersive feeling for movement. But introducing OLED panels with 4K resolution also means that games from the initial PS VR headset are no longer compatible with the new one.

With headset rumble being exclusive to the PS VR2 on top of the eye-tracking technology included, it's clear Sony’s goal was to provide the most immersive gaming experience. There's nothing like your headset shaking when you hear a horde of zombies coming at you. To match the pace of evolution, XR Games have reimagined their character models, created new animations, updated the lighting and in-game physics, and a completely re-designed progression system. This is on top of loads of brand-new gameplay content, new music, new guns, and skins suitable for them.
