Zombie mode is one of the highlights of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. New information suggests that players may get their hands on the returning game mode earlier than expected.
According to a report by GamingBible, a reliable Call of Duty leaker claims that a beta for the Zombie mode is coming. Insider HeyImAlaix teased on X shared a cryptic tweet with a Zombie emoji and Greek symbol for "beta." It is easy to interpret that a beta for the popular game mode is coming sometime soon.

Users have been reacting positively to the news of a zombie beta mode. Players are excited to hop on to the returning game mode that was absent in Modern Warfare 2. If the rumor is true, it will be the first time that Zombies will be part of the beta period which is usually reserved for the Multiplayer and Battle Royale game modes.
Getting a Zombie mode beta will be big for Modern Warfare 3. The series has recently been losing players with Modern Warfare 2 with many gamers being upset about the reworked movement and time to kill among other issues. Zombies is one of the popular game modes and the beta should attract players to return to the series with Modern Warfare 3.
Activision Blizzard recently discussed changes to Zombies in Modern Warfare 3. The upcoming game mode has been revamped into a PvE-only extraction shooter mode. According to Sledgehammer Games, Zombies will get its largest open-world map ever and each round will be an hour long.
Rumors have suggested that the large map will host 24 players or a total of six teams. These teams can work together to achieve common goals as there is no risk of PVP. We assume that the Zombies mode will get the AI from DMZ, which has been a very successful mode for Warzone 2.
We still do not have information if Sledgehammer will have a single beta period for Modern Warfare 3 or if the Zombie mode will have a separate beta phase. It will be certainly worth keeping an eye out for the upcoming beta announcements. If the rumors turn out to be true then it would also be a good opportunity for players to try out the mode before purchasing the game.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on November 10, 2023.
