Xbox teasing Fable news for June 11 showcase

Microsoft has had very little to show for the upcoming Fable reboot after announcing its existence way back in 2020.

Playground Games take on Fable continues to excite and worry fans of the franchise.

It appears Microsoft will bless us with some juicy Fable news soon. Yes, you heard that right. So, buckle up, and let's dive into this enticing, glittery trail of breadcrumbs that Microsoft has laid before us.

Xbox recently got our pulses racing with a short video on their official Twitter account. The video, which involves a trail of glitter leading to a PC (the absolute horror of cleaning that up is another story) is believed to be a massive nod towards the Fable series. The tune humming in the background, in particular, sounds a lot like the Bowerstone music from the original game.

If that isn't a glittery breadcrumb, then we don't know what is.

Microsoft has the chance to turn the Xbox Series S/X into a powerhouse for western RPGs if it can get its house in order.

As further evidence of a potential Fable announcement, the glitter trail in the video looks similar to the sparkly path players follow in the game to reach their next objectives. While this may be all a coincidence, Microsoft isn't exactly above dropping cheeky and thought-out teasers, especially after last year's relatively barren slate of exclusive game releases and announcements.

So, what does this mean for Fable fans? The more desperate optimistic are hopeful for a gameplay reveal, or at least, a new trailer for the Fable reboot, three years after its initial announcement.

Now, whether this glittery teaser will lead us to a pot of Fable gold or not, only time will tell. Fortunately, we won't have to wait too long. The Xbox Games Showcase will light up our screens on June 11.

If Microsoft plays its cards right, the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase will feel like Christmas morning but for video games, at least for Xbox Series S/X owners. Starved and deprived of new content, the showcase has the potential to grace owners with more Fable news. More importantly, fans are hoping that Microsoft will offer glimpses of its other upcoming major titles as well like Avowed.

Microsoft is risking a ton of backlash if it doesn't announce anything significant related to Fable on June 11.

With Starfield confirmed for a separate showcase just a day after the Xbox Games Showcase ends, all eyes will be on Xbox for that particular weekend.

So, let's not just keep our fingers crossed, let's cross our toes, our eyes, and anything else that can be crossed. We hope to journey back to Albion soon. And in the meantime, let's sit back, grab our controllers (free of glitter, preferably), and wait for the magic to unfold.
