Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Now Comes With Free Spotify Premium

Microsoft and Spotify have partnered together once again. For a limited time only, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will receive free Spotify Premium, which is good for four months.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate just got a whole lot better.

Get Free Spotify Premium With Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

While the promotion is not permanent, four months of Spotify Premium still represents a substantial cost saving for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers.

The Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription is already widely considered the most robust video game subscription service available today. Although the Xbox Games With Gold offerings are often disappointing, the Xbox Game Pass library continues to grow by the month. In fact, after welcoming Outriders at launch on April 1, Microsoft secured a Sony first-party title, MLB The Show 21, as a launch title on April 20 as well.

In addition to this, just last year, Microsoft cemented a partnership with Electronic Arts that adds EA Play to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. This year, there are numerous reports that Microsoft is in talks to do the same thing with Ubisoft and its Ubisoft Plus subscription.

With that said, Microsoft's upcoming partnership with Spotify gives users even more of an incentive to sign up and pay $14.99 a month. As part of the partnership, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will receive yet another complimentary perk. This comes in the form of a four-month membership to Spotify's ad-free music streaming subscription service, Spotify Premium.

It marks the second time that Microsoft has partnered with Spotify to give Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers free Spotify Premium access.

With that said, there are a few caveats to this promotion. For one, it's not available yet. It goes live starting on May 4 and is available only in a still-to-be-specified number of regions. Also, only first-time Spotify Premium subscribers will be able to claim the offer. So, if you're an existing Spotify Premium subscriber, you won't be able to enjoy unlimited music skips, offline listening, and more for free. However, this is a "problem" easily solved by creating a new Spotify account.

Securing Spotify Premium reaffirms Microsoft's commitment to growing the Xbox Game Pass subscription numbers. So far, Microsoft has secured multiple non-gaming perks for subscribers, including services like Postmates Unlimited, Discord Nitro, Funimation Premium plus, and Disney Plus.

For those interested Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, you can claim your free Spotify Premium subscription via the Xbox app on the PC or mobile, as well as through your Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X consoles.

Speaking of partnerships, Microsoft's rival, Sony, has recently partnered with Discord. The two are working together to integrate the communication platform with Sony's PlayStation consoles starting in early 2022.
