Xbox announces new titles for Xbox Game Pass in May

Eight new titles will arrive on the subscription service this month as well as two DLCs.


Xbox has announced a bevy of new titles for the Xbox Game Pass this May. The games range across different genres such as fantasy, sports, and strategy. Apart from this, the company also revealed a host of DLCs arriving for established games.

FIFA 23 is one of the games available on the Xbox Game Pass from this month.

Available from May 16

FIFA 23 – Available on PC and Console
Xbox released its list on May 16 and the FIFA 23 arrived on the Xbox Game Pass and the PC Game Pass via EA Play on that very day. The latest FIFA title comes with a host of new features that enhance the gameplay experience, including better gameplay realism and women’s club teams.

Available from May 18

Eastern Exorcist – Available on PC and Console
Today, May 18, two titles will arrive on the Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass. One of them, Eastern Exorcist, is set in a "fictitious eastern world with an infestation of vicious demon monsters." It will see players take on the role of a skilled exorcist combating the evil of their world and experiencing " unforeseen entanglements of complex beings."

Ghostlore – Available on Console
Ghostlore, which is already available on PC Game Pass, will be available on consoles today via the Xbox Game Pass. The Eastpunk action RPG title will see players battle against monsters from Southeast-Asian myths.

Massive Chalice is one of three titles that will be available on the Xbox Game Pass from May 25.

Planet of Lana – Available on PC and Console
On May 23, the puzzle adventure title Planet of Lana will arrive on the Xbox Game Pass and the PC Game Pass. Players will take on the role of the main character Lana and her companion Mui as they "go on a voyage of discovery that will take them across the strange and magical world they call their home."

Available from May 25

Cassette Beasts – Available on Console
Like Ghostlore, Cassette Beasts is already available on the PC Game Pass. It will arrive on the Xbox Game Pass on May 25. The open-world RPG title is innovative and unlike other titles in that genre. It features turn-based battles aided by monsters collected by players.

Massive Chalice – Available on Console and Cloud
Massive Chalice is the second of three titles arriving on the Xbox Game Pass on May 25. The tactical strategy title will see players as the Immortal Ruler of the nation, take command of its heroes, forge heroic marriages to strengthen their Bloodlines, and "battle a mysterious enemy known as the Cadence in a 300 year war." The title will also be available via Cloud Gaming on the same day.

Railway Empire 2 – Available on PC, Console, and Cloud
Rounding up the releases on May 25 is Railway Empire 2, the recently released sequel to the 2018 game. The game will see players on a mission to expand their company into the "largest railway company of the continent."

Evil Genius 2 is one of five titles leaving the service on May 31.

Chicory: A Colorful Tale – Available on PC and Console
Chicory: A Colorful Tale is the final game to arrive on both the PC Game Pass and the Xbox Game Pass in May. The adventure game is set in a coloring book world where players will use drawing and painting in several innovative ways, including saving their friends and exploring new places.

DLCs
Apart from the above titles, Xbox also announced two DLCs, Sea of Thieves: The Hoarder’s Hunt and Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition – Return to Rome, for the Game Pass. Both are already available.

Finally, on May 31, the following titles will depart the subscription service:

  • Evil Genius 2: World Domination (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • FIFA 21 (Console and PC) EA Play
  • Floppy Knights (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Lawn Mowing Simulator (Cloud, Console, and PC)
