Chalamet will be just the third actor to take on the iconic role of Willy Wonka. He's also the first one to portray a younger version of Wonka in a prequel to Roald Dahl's 1964 novel, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The other two actors, Gene Wilder and Johnny Depp, have all enjoyed equally illustrious careers before, during, and after portraying Willy Wonka in theaters.
It's not as if Chalamet is short on awards though. As we've already mentioned, the 25-year-old actor has several wins to his name. With Wonka, Chalamet has a chance to prove his acting chops once again. In the meantime, fans can catch Chalamet in the upcoming film, Dune, where he stars as Paul Atreides.
