Horror villain face-offs aren't new. Jason Vorhees and Freddy Krueger fought in Freddy vs Jason with the Friday the 13th star coming out on top. Now, fans have been wondering who would win a fight between two characters related to Jenna Ortega.
Wednesday and Scream star Jenna Ortega recently shared her thoughts on who would come out on top in a fight between Wednesday Addams and Ghostface. The actor burst into the scene as one of this generation's new Scream queens by starring as Tara Carpenter in Scream 5, a role that she'll reprise in Scream 6. But, at the same time, Ortega blew up even bigger as Wednesday Addams in one of Netflix's biggest hits.
So, naturally, she's an authority figure when it comes to who she thinks would win in a square off between Ghostface and Wednesday.
Ortega sat down with Comicbook for an interview ahead of the release of Scream 6. According to Ortega, Wednesday would win the fight hands down.
"I feel like she would get him first," Ortega said of the fight. Scream 6 co-star Melissa Barrera agrees with Ortega’s take on the fight.
Ortega’s comments may surprise some fans as Ghostface has a significantly high body count in the first five movies of the series. Scream 6 directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett have also said that the new Ghostface for Scream 6 will be different from past films.
According to the directors, the current iteration of Ghostface will be much more relentless and vicious. Ortega also teased that the villain is "the most violent and aggressive version of Ghostface we've ever seen."
However, Wednesday did manifest some psychic powers in the first season of the Netflix series of the same name. While she is still learning to fully control her abilities, Wednesday may have already the skill to take full advantage of her powers in the second season.
Wednesday is also a very proficient sword fighter as shown in Season 1. She could use it to her advantage as Ghostface likes to use a knife to dispose of his targets.
Additionally, Wednesday is accustomed to dodging traps and other deadly implements deployed by her brother Pugsley in the animated series. She can also be seen using a variety of weapons and other implements to inflict serious damage on her brother. She is also very fearless which works to her advantage.
The plot of Scream 6 revolves follows four survivors from the previous movie as they leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter. A new Ghostface will be hunting the group through the streets of New York.
Scream 6 premiered on March 10 to rave reviews. Ortega is currently confirmed to return for a second season of Wednesday on Netflix.
