Is Xbox getting Android app support? Probably not

By Ray Ampoloquio September 5, 2021

Microsoft has previously confirmed that it will offer Android app support on its latest operating system, Windows 11.

While this is common knowledge at this point, what is interesting is that Microsoft appears to have listed the Xbox as part of the compatible devices.

So now fans are speculating that the Xbox One, as well as Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X, will feature Android app support soon.

The most interesting part about Xbox consoles supporting Android apps is that this is the first time that we've heard of it.

However, it is also for this reason that we think that it might just be an experimental feature that Microsoft doesn't necessarily plan on rolling out anytime soon.

Keep in mind that the feature wasn't released to the public.

Not to mention, attempting to run the app only leaves you with a black window.

Even if the app did work, the description specifically states that it is for "testing purposes only".

With that said, the ability to use Android apps on Xbox consoles would be heaven-sent.

At the moment, we can play Xbox games on Android and iOS phones

It wouldn't be far-fetched to think that Microsoft is planning on making it possible to do things the other way around.

Unfortunately, credible Microsoft sources are claiming that these rumors aren't true.

If we got your hopes high up, we'd like to apologize.

But, then again, who knows? This "experimental" feature might eventually make its way to the Xbox consoles.

Just don't expect for the feature to come to the Xbox anytime soon.
