CD Projekt Red is targeting a late 2021 release for next-gen Cyberpunk 2077
By Ray Ampoloquio September 2, 2021
Throughout the course of the year, CDPR has taken small steps towards regaining the trust of gamers.
For example, Cyberpunk 2077 is finally playable on the PS4 and Xbox One.
Unfortunately, just as CDPR takes a step forward, it appears to be taking a couple of steps backward as well.
The lackluster content of Cyberpunk 2077's first set of DLC releases did not curry the game any favors.
Now, CDPR is playing a dangerous game again with the release of next-gen versions of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
CDPR claims that the goal is to release the next-gen updates of CP2077 and The Witcher 3 in late 2021.
Unfortunately, the studio could not guarantee that the production schedule will not change.
With only a handful of months left for the year, time is running out for CDPR.
it would be wise not to expect the next-gen updates for Cyberpunk 2077 to arrive in time.
This is unfortunate news for those who are still holding out hope for a more fully realized version of Cyberpunk 2077.
A holiday 2021 release for the next-gen updates could serve as a pseudo-relaunch for the game.
CDPR has spent the better part of 2021 trying to clean up its mess and making sure that it never happens again.
Only time will tell if the studio has done enough for CDPR to come back from disaster.
However, coming through with its late 2021 release window for next-gen versions of its latest titles would go a long way.
