Netflix drops its first trailer for Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie

Just like what Universal Pictures is doing with the Halloween franchise on Peacock, Netflix intends to do the same with Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Earlier this year, Netflix acquired the rights for Fede Álvarez's upcoming Texas Chainsaw Massacre sequel.

In an interview with EW, the upcoming sequel's cast and crew shared some details about the movie alongside a trailer and exclusive photos.

Netflix also confirmed that the Texas Chainsaw Massacre sequel will release on February 18, 2022.

According to producer Fede Álvarez, Netflix's Texas Chainsaw Massacre sequel won't erase the well-received sequels.

In a way, you could say that Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a soft reboot of the franchise.

However, he did admit that the other movies are "such a mess canon-wise" and that he's leaving it up to audiences to "decide when and how the events of the other movies happen."
