The Conjuring spin-off based on The Crooked Man has been cancelled

Director James Wan confirmed the cancellation of the spin-off of The Conjuring, The Crooked Man.

In his announcement, Wan had a few good things to say about Javier Botet for his "almost supernatural movement" for The Crooked Man.

While this is disappointing, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to fans since the studio has given little to no update on the film since it started production over five years ago.

The Crooked Man was adapted from the popular nursery rhyme "There was a crooked man" and was introduced in the second installment of The Conjuring series.

Despite this news, fans of The Conjuring franchise can rejoice that there are still several films planned and on their way.

After producing eight films in less than a decade, Wan's The Conjuring Universe has made a little over $700 million at the global box office.
