Sega makes controversial blockchain game official

Unfortunately, not everyone wants to listen to what the rest of the industry's thoughts on NFTs and blockchain gaming.

SEGA, the company behind the Sega Genesis, Sonic, and Yakuza, recently announced it is working on a new blockchain game.

The info revealed by Double Tokyo Jump explains that the NFT game will be based on the RTS series, Sangokushi Taisen.

SEGA nor Double Jump Tokyo have confirmed a release date and platforms for the game.

Unlike other companies who seem to have backtracked from their earlier comments, SEGA remains a firm believer that the blockchain has a place in the video game industry.

It will be interesting to see if SEGA can be the first to buck the trend in video games or if it will backtrack like everyone else.
