Riot Games releases royalty-free music dedicated to streamers
By Ray Ampoloquio July 2, 2021
Riot Games, the developer of the hit MOBA title, League of Legends, is not new to the music industry.
The studio is behind one of the most popular virtual bands in the world, K/DA.
However, Riot's latest foray into the music industry is a little different.
Sessions VI is a royalty-free album composed of 37 low-fi tunes from artists like Junior State and Chromonicci.
The album is part of Riot's attempt to combat the growing frustration among streamers and gamers.
Over the past year, Twitch has sent thousands of DMCA takedowns.
It will be interesting to see what other studios will do in the face of Twitch's receive move.
