The Resident Evil live-action reboot reveals first photos and new details

Paul W. S. Anderson's Resident Evil movies are every gamer's guilty pleasure.

The franchise deviated almost immediately from the source material.
Yet, the series was still successful enough to spawn five sequels and gross over $1 billion in the global box office.
Now it's Johannes Roberts' turn to have a go at a live-action adaptation of the classic survival horror series of games.

The first photos of Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City shows Avan Jogia as Leon S. Kennedy and Kaya Scodelario as Claire Redfield.
This marks the first official look of the upcoming live-action reboot.
The photos also feature
Tom Hopper's Albert Wesker, as well as Hannah John-Kamen as Jill Valentine and Nathan Dales as Brad Vickers.
The set reveal also treats audiences to new details about the upcoming film from its director.
Welcome to Raccoon City is based on the first two Resident Evil games and will explore how Raccoon City became such a big deal in the series mythos.

Johannes also went into detail just how much work went into making sure that the movie was "more in line with the Resident Evil game world."

claims that Capcom was "so happy and excited" after seeing the fruits of their labor.
With that said, only time will tell if the upcoming Resident Evil live-action movie reboot is going to live up to expectations.
