Delays are pretty much the norm these days.
Still, Paramount Pictures' decision to delay several of its movies is still somewhat surprising.
FULL DETAILS
Paramount Pictures has decided to delay Top Gun: Maverick, Mission: Impossible 7, and Jackass Forever.
The original plan was for the Top Gun sequel to premiere on November 19 later this year.
TOP GUN: MAVERICK WOWS AT CINEMACON 2021
Unfortunately, Paramount's decision to ground it means that the film is now set to premiere on May 27, 2022.
Meanwhile, Mission: Impossible 7 has been moved from its
original May 27, 2022 premiere date to September 30, 2022.
Because there is a lot at stake for both Mission: Impossible 7 and Top Gun: Maverick, we don't blame Paramount for their decision.
What does come off as a surprise is for the studio to push back the launch Jackass Forever.
The "last" Jackass film would have premiered on October 22 later this year.
JACKASS FOREVER PREVIEW
Now, Jackass Forever is slated for February 2022.
Because of this, we won't rule out Paramount delaying Scream 5 next.
SCREAM 5 GETS R-RATING
It appears that only Paramount has taken such extreme measures to delay several films.
On the other hand, Sony just "confirmed" that Venom: Let There Be Sequel is guaranteed to premiere in October.

Disney and Marvel are also sticking to their original schedules.
Fans can look forward to watching Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings in theaters starting September 3.
