Nicolas Cage is Dracula in upcoming "Renfield" film

The last time that Nicolas Cage played a vampire was in 1988's Vampire's Kiss.

The classic film bombed at the global box office and among audiences when it was first released.

However, over time, audiences started to appreciate Cage's performance more.

His exaggerated mannerisms have since become the go-to example by many when talking about method acting.

Now, Cage is set to play a vampire once again in the upcoming film, Renfield.

Renfield, which is the brainchild of The Walking Dead's Robert Kirkman.

The film will be directed by Chris McKay in a story that's loosely based on the classic Bram Stoker novel but will instead revolve on the titular acolyte.

In addition to Cage as Dracula, the film will also feature Nicholas Hoult as the titular servant of the vampire.

With the film's two leads now cast, many believe that it's only a matter of time before Renfield's production kicks off.
