Satya Nadella, Microsoft’s CEO, has expressed the sentiment that his company’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard will secure regulatory approval.
Microsoft’s buyout of Activision Blizzard came as a shock for the rest of the gaming industry when it was announced earlier this year.
The deal, worth $68.7 billion, will be the biggest one the game industry has ever witnessed if it is successful with a massive influence across the length and breadth of the industry.
The process is ongoing and is expected to conclude on June 30, 2023, but the process has not been smooth sailing at all.
Nevertheless, Microsoft is taking the necessary steps to ensure the acquisition doesn't flout anti-trust rules, which is going to help its case.
If Microsoft’s acquisition falls through due to breaches of anti-trust laws, the company will be forced to pay Activision Blizzard then sum of $3 billion as compensation.
