LIVE: Johnny Depp v Amber Heard - Depp wins

The jury in the libel case between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard has ruled in favour of the Pirates of the Caribbean actor.

This means they believed that Heard was lying about her claims that he abused her during their marriage.

However, they also found that Heard was defamed by Depp's lawyer, who called her abuse allegations a hoax.

As a result, the jury awarded Depp $15 million and Heard $2 million.

In court, Heard looked extremely disappointed. She could appeal the verdict.

Depp, who was not in court, said that now he could get his life back.

Heard said that she was heartbroken.

"Six years ago, my life, the life of my children, the lives of those closest to me, and also, the lives of the people who for many, many years have supported and believed in me were forever changed." - Johnny Depp

"And six years later, the jury gave me my life back. I am truly humbled." - Johnny Depp

"I'm heartbroken that the mountain of evidence still was not enough to stand up to the disproportionate power, influence, and sway of my ex-husband." - Amber Heard

"I'm even more disappointed with what this verdict means for other women. It is a setback. It sets back the clock to a time when a woman who spoke up and spoke out could be publicly shamed and humiliated." - Amber Heard

Now that the trial is over, expect a mountain of analysis over the coming days, and a decision on whether Amber Heard will appeal.
