After multiple delays and postponements, audiences finally have a chance to see more of the latest Ghostbusters film, Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

Afterlife introduces the franchise to an entirely new generation of moviegoers, while also paying proper homage to the series' older fans.

The director of the film, Jason Reitman, is the son of the director of the 1980s films, Ivan Reitman, who is also on board as one of the producers on Afterlife.

According to the film's official synopsis, Afterlife will revolve around the story of a single mother and her two children.

The family is related to the original Ghostbusters, who, by this time, are considered more of a myth.

In addition to directing Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Jason Reitman will also serve as the film's co-writer.

The upcoming Ghostbusters film is also set to star the ageless Paul Rudd, as well as Finn Wolfhard, McKenna Grace, and Carrie Coon.

Actors from the original Ghostbusters film are also set to reprise their roles in Afterlife. This includes the main cast such as Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts.

Speaking of Reitman, he recently saw down with IGN to do a proper breakdown of the latest Afterlife trailer.
