Battlefield 2042 open beta coming in September
By Aron Gerencser July 23, 2021
Following the Battlefield 2042 showcase at EA Play Live, DICE revealed that the game's open beta test will take place sometime in September.
The open beta will be fans' first opportunity for some hands on time with the upcoming multiplayer-only near future shooter.
While we now know that the beta is coming in September, a whole month is a pretty broad ballpark.
Apparently EA themselves accidentally leaked the exact dates via a now-removed page on the Battlefield 2042 website.
The beta will last from the 6th of September to the 11th, with EA Access subscribers getting access on the 4th. Pre-loading the beta will begin on the 3rd.
Of course, there is a chance that this information was removed from the website because these plans are going to change and the beta will take place at a different date.
The open beta will not include all maps and gameplay modes, but will rather offer fans a limited snapshot of the content that will be included in the full game.
Battlefield 2042 will launch on the 22nd of October across PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
