The Ridley Scott and Margot Robbie-produced serial killer drama, Boston Strangler, has just found its lead.

Keira Knightley has signed on to take on the lead role in the film based on the 1960s Boston Strangler murders.

The Boston Strangler is the name of the murderer who terrorized in the Boston area in the 1960s.

A certain Albert DeSalvo was caught in 1964 due to an unrelated crime before he confessed to the murders himself later on.

Keira Knightley will take on the role of Loretta McLaughlin in the Boston Strangler movie.

McLaughlin was one-half of the first investigative reporters to break the news of the gruesome killings.

She is largely attributed for coining DeSalvo's now-infamous monicker.

Matt Ruskin of Crown Heights fame has signed on to write the script and direct the film.

The movie is scheduled to start filming in December in the same area that the murders happened.
