James Gunn teases possible DC versus Marvel crossover
By Geoff Borgonia July 29, 2021
James Gunn (The Suicide Squad, Guardians of the Galaxy) teased the possibility of a DC and Marvel crossover for their cinematic universes.
James Gunn: "I would be really happy to do a Harley Quinn and Groot movie. That would be exciting for me."
James Gunn said "not only have I thought about that but I've actually talked about that to the heads of both Marvel and DC."
The very first official crossover of DC and Marvel properties happened in Superman vs. the Amazing Spider-Man (January, 1976).
"Whether we could ever get through the barrage, the Berlin Wall of lawyers we would need to get through to ever make something like that happen", says Gunn.
The Marvel and DC cinematic universes are already playing with the concepts of alternate realities and different timelines.
Will we ever see Superman showing Thor who's boss? James Gunn says it's possible.
The Suicide Squad will be smashing its way into theaters and on HBO Max on the same day, August 6, 2021.
