The Twisted Metal games were some of the most popular titles back in the late 90s and early 2000s.

Unfortunately, the franchise's popularity would eventually die out.

However, it appears that Sony is looking to revive the series for modern audiences.

According to recent reports, Sony has tapped Lucid Games to work on a new Twisted Metal game.

Lucid is best remembered for working on the PS5 exclusive, Destruction AllStars.

The report adds that the upcoming Twisted Metal game would be free-to-play, a first in the series.

Of course, it's hard to tell if these claims are true or not.

Until Sony confirms it themselves, it's best to take everything you just read with a grain of salt.
