Hollywood execs believed audiences couldn't grasp multiverse concept

Multiverse movies are far more commonplace these days in the movie industry than ever.

But, while these types of films make a lot of money, a handful of Hollywood executives aren't huge believers of this concept.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the writers of Sony's Spider-Verse movies, claim that they had to deal with non-believing execs in Hollywood.

Hollywood execs thought that audiences wouldn't be able to grasp the concept, which is far from the truth.

As Miller puts it, their films had an "electrifying" effect on test audiences, which helped sway the opinion of Hollywood execs.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse are set to be  released in theaters on June 2023 and March 2024, respectively.
