James Gunn "would love to" direct an R-rated Drax solo MCU movie

James Gunn has had a taste of directing an R-rated movie with The Suicide Squad.

Now, he's hoping to get a chance to do it again in the MCU after he finishes his work on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

In a recent interview with IndieWire, Gunn was asked about Marvel doing R-rated movies

Gunn said that a Drax solo film could go that route. He added that he would love to direct that R-rated movie if it ever happened.

If Disney does go the R-rated route for the first time, we doubt that it'll be with Drax.

Deadpool is currently in development, and we think it's going to be Disney's best bet at making the first R-rated film in the MCU.

As for Drax, audiences will get a chance to see the stoic and merciless brute appear on the big screen once again on May 5, 2023

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is expected to start filming later this year.
