The Gran Turismo 7 campaign might require an online connection at all times
By Ray Ampoloquio September 12, 2021
Fans have waited for a new numbered Gran Turismo game for nearly a decade.
With Gran Turismo 7, Polyphony Digital is looking to bring the series back to its roots.
This is why plenty of fans are looking forward to the upcoming title.
With that said, it appears that Gran Turismo 7 is taking one of the worst things about Gran Turismo Sport.
Fans were happy to see the return of GTA Campaign mode, among other familiar features along with new ones.
Unfortunately, it appears that the return of fan-favorite features comes with a caveat.
Eagle-eyed fans noticed a small print at the bottom of an official blog post on the PlayStation Blog.
How it was phrased suggests that certain parts of Gran Turismo 7 will be inaccessible offline.
Sony traditionally never required an always-on connection for its numbered Gran Turismo games.
Series veterans might find themselves shocked that they're unable to play much of Gran Turismo 7 without an internet connection.
Polyphony Digital and Sony will want to clarify this confusion as soon as possible.
Gran Turismo 7 has already been delayed to 2022.
Not to mention, it's also going to be available on the PS4 after supposedly being a PS5-exclusive.
Making Gran Turismo 7 online-only won't be winning it fans anytime soon.
We can only hope that we'll get a chance to hear more about Gran Turismo 7 ahead of its March 4, 2022 release date.
