God of War: Ragnarok has set a new record for the "fastest-selling first-party launch game in PlayStation history."
According to Sony, the combined sales of Ragnarok on the PS4 and the PS5 reached 5.1 units already.
In comparison, the platform's previous record-holder, The Last of Us: Part II, sold 4 million copies in three days when it came out in 2020.
Before that, Marvel's Spider-Man held the record at 3.3 million copies in three days, which is more than what God of War managed at 3.1 million copies.
5 million copies in a week is a lot. In comparison, the 2018 reboot sold nearly half of that in three days and sold around 23 million units in total.
It wouldn't surprise us if God of War: Ragnarok ends up selling close to 15 million copies in a few months.
