Sony reveals free PS Plus game for August 2021 a month early
By Ray Ampoloquio July 8, 2021
For years, fans have come to expect Sony to announce next month's free PlayStation Plus games a few days to a week ahead before they release.
But, as consistent as Sony has been for years, it's not unusual for the Japanese company behind the PlayStation brand to switch things up occasionally.
Earlier this year, Sony broke its usual cycle by announcing Oddworld: Soulstorm roughly around a month ahead of its release on the PlayStation Plus for PS5 owners.
Now, Sony is doing it again. The only difference is that the reveal comes only a little over three weeks in advance.
According to Sony, those with an active PlayStation Plus subscription can start claiming Hunter's Arena: Legends starting August 3 until September 6.
Hunter's Arena: Legends is a 30-player PvE and PvP battle royale game that has been in Early Access on Steam since July 2020.
Hunter's Arena: Legends recently held a closed beta on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
Now that it's confirmed as a free PS Plus game for August 2021, more players will get a chance to see if Hunter's Arena: Legends is worth playing or not.
The reveal of Hunter's Arena: Legends as a free PS Plus game for August 2021 does spell bad news for those hoping to see Godfall become available as a free PS Plus title at launch as well.
