Watch Neo return to a familiar world in the first Matrix: Resurrections trailer

By Ray Ampoloquio September 9, 2021

A select few got the chance to watch the first The Matrix: Resurrections trailer at CinemaCon 2021.

Now, everyone can enjoy watching Keanu Reeves' return to one of his most iconic roles.

The trailer sees the return of Reeves as Neo along with Carrie-Anne Moss reprising her role as Trinity.

Neil Patrick Harris is also in the therapist's chair as Neo's counselor.

What's perhaps the most interesting part of the trailer is what many believe is Yahya Abdul-Mateen II's character as a young Morpheus.

The unnamed figure hands over a red pill to Neo, telling him that "it's time to fly."

Older Matrix fans will definitely love what they saw from the upcoming sequel's first trailers.

This is a true Matrix sequel with the potential to surpass the original trilogy.

The story of the latest Matrix film will see Neo follow a woman to learn more about what happened.

Naturally, the latest Matrix trailer spawned a number of questions.

For example, is Resurrections a prequel? Or is it set in an alternate universe?

How come Neo and Trinity are still alive after they both died at the end of The Matrix Revolutions?

So many questions will be answered when Resurrections premieres in December later this year.
