Elijah Wood expresses desire to star in a Marvel or Star Wars movie

You might not have seen much of Elijah Wood in big films, but he hasn't taken a hiatus from filming.

Wood landed a big role as Frodo Baggins in Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Since then, the 40-year-old actor has chosen to star in relatively smaller films.

Now, it appears that Wood is ready to join a big movie franchise again.

The Lord of the Rings actor mentioned that he was a "huge Star Wars fan".

He added that it would be nice to join a live-action Star Wars film as he hasn't played "in a giant sandbox in a while."

Wood also mentioned that he's open to joining another big Disney franchise in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Wood explained that the MCU movies are "inherently fun" and "extremely well made".

He added that "getting to play again in that universe's sandbox would be a blast.

It's safe to say that we shouldn't expect to find Elijah Wood in an MCU or Star Wars live-action movie anytime soon.
